Duties

Site Preparation

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and work orders to outline the details of installation projects.
  • Measure window openings accurately to guarantee a proper fit for new windows.
  • Prepare the installation site by removing old windows, clearing debris, and making any necessary repairs.

Window Installation

  • Install windows following manufacturer guidelines and industry standards, ensuring they are level, plumb, and adequately sealed.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment, including saws, drills, and caulking guns, to complete installations.
  • Ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing to improve energy efficiency and prevent air or water infiltration.

Quality Control

  • Conduct inspections of installed windows to verify proper operation, fit, and finish, addressing any defects before completing the project.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations during installations.

Client Engagement

  • Interact with clients to understand their preferences regarding window styles, types, and finishes.
  • Provide accurate estimates and timelines for projects, ensuring clear communication throughout the installation process.
  • Advise clients on the maintenance and care of their newly installed windows.

Repairs and Maintenance

  • Perform repairs and upkeep on existing windows, including caulking, sealing, and replacing broken glass or hardware.
  • Diagnose performance issues related to windows and recommend effective solutions to clients.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople, such as carpenters, electricians, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications:
