Overview
The Welder is responsible for joining metal parts together using various welding techniques to create strong, durable, and precise welds. Duties
Reading and Interpreting Blueprints:
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or specifications to determine welding requirements, including materials, dimensions, and welding methods.
- Identify welding symbols, dimensions, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal components.
Preparation and Setup:
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, degreasing, or grinding to remove contaminants, rust, or oxidation.
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding tools, electrodes, or filler materials based on the welding process and material properties.
Welding Techniques:
- Perform welding operations using various techniques such as arc welding, gas welding, or resistance welding, depending on the specific requirements of the project.
- Control welding parameters such as voltage, current, and travel speed to achieve optimal weld penetration, fusion, and quality.
Quality Control and Inspection:
- Inspect welds visually and using non-destructive testing methods to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Repair or rework defective welds by cutting, grinding, or rewelding to achieve the desired quality and integrity.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or materials.

Qualifications
