Overview
A Warehouse Worker is responsible for performing various tasks within a warehouse or distribution center to ensure efficient operation and organization of inventory. They play a crucial role in receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the warehouse.
Duties
# Inventory Handling:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips or purchase orders.
- Stock shelves and bins with incoming inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
# Order Picking and Packing:
- Retrieve items from shelves or bins according to pick lists or customer orders.
- Pack items securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
# Shipping and Receiving:
- Prepare outgoing shipments for pickup or delivery.
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from trucks or delivery vehicles.
# Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and report low stock items to supervisor.
- Assist with restocking inventory as needed.
- Keep accurate records of inventory movements and transactions.
# Warehouse Maintenance:
- Keep warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on warehouse equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or systems is a plus.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
