Overview
A Waiter is responsible for providing attentive and courteous service to restaurant patrons, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. They play a key role in taking orders, serving food and beverages, and attending to the needs of guests in a timely and professional manner.
Duties
# Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
- Attend to guests' needs and inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience from start to finish.
# Order Taking and Processing:
- Take food and beverage orders from guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Input orders accurately into the POS system and communicate special requests to the kitchen staff.
- Verify the accuracy of orders before serving them to guests.
# Food and Becerage Service:
- Serve food and beverages to guests according to established standards and procedures.
- Ensure that all items are presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperature.
- Anticipate guests' needs and provide additional service as needed.
# Table Maintenance:
- Clear and clean tables between courses and after guests have finished their meals.
- Replace table linens, utensils, and condiments as needed.
- Ensure that tables are set up properly for the next guests.
# Payment Handling:
- Present checks to guests and process payments accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment securely.
- Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
- Willingness to learn and follow restaurant policies and procedures.
