Overview
The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a restaurant or dining establishment. Duties
Customer Interaction:
- Greet customers warmly, escort them to their tables, and provide menus.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly, making recommendations if requested.
Table Service:
- Serve food and drinks to customers, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
- Attend to customers' needs throughout the meal, such as refilling drinks, clearing plates, and addressing any concerns.
Product Knowledge:
- Familiarize yourself with the menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special offers.
- Answer customer questions about menu items, dietary restrictions, and allergens.
Upselling and Revenue Generation:
- Suggest additional items such as appetizers, desserts, or beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Promote special menu items or promotions to customers and encourage participation.
Cleanliness and Hygiene:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of utensils, plates, and glassware.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a waiter or in a customer service role preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
