Overview
The Shop Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a well-organized store environment, and supporting daily retail operations. This role involves assisting customers, handling transactions, and ensuring that products are displayed attractively and are readily available.
Duties
- Greet and assist customers, addressing their inquiries, providing product information, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Operate the cash register, handle cash and card transactions, and process returns and exchanges accurately and efficiently.
- Replenish shelves and displays, ensuring products are neatly arranged and adequately stocked. Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment, including tidying up displays, cleaning floors, and organizing back stock.
- Stay informed about the store’s products, promotions, and special offers to effectively assist customers and drive sales.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and stocking.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Previous retail or customer service experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
