Overview
The Security Officer plays a critical role in safeguarding the premises, assets, and individuals within a designated area or facility. They are responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling the premises, and responding to security incidents to ensure the safety and security of personnel and property.
Duties
# Surveillance and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to detect and deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems for signs of security breaches.
- Maintain a high level of alertness and attentiveness at all times.
# Acces Control:
- Control access to the premises by verifying credentials and issuing visitor passes as required.
- Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized entry or exit.
- Enforce security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and property.
# Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
- Take appropriate action to mitigate risks and resolve situations effectively.
- Coordinate with emergency services and law enforcement as necessary.
# Report Writing and Documentation:
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security-related incidents and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of security logs, patrols, and incidents.
- Submit reports to management and authorities in a timely manner.
# Customer Service and Assistance:
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to clients, visitors, and employees.
- Assist individuals with directions, information, and inquiries as needed.
- Handle complaints and conflicts with diplomacy and tact.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in security or law enforcement preferred.
- Proven experience as a security guard or in a related field.
- Strong observation and surveillance skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Proficient in report writing and documentation.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
