Overview
The Security Officer plays a critical role in safeguarding the premises, assets, and individuals within a designated area or facility. They are responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling the premises, and responding to security incidents to ensure the safety and security of personnel and property.
Duties
# Surveillance and Monitoring:
- Monitor premises through security cameras and patrols to detect and prevent suspicious activity.
- Remain alert and vigilant at all times to identify potential security threats or breaches.
# Acces Control:
- Control access to the premises by verifying credentials and issuing visitor badges or access passes.
- Enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors.
# Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or security breaches.
- Follow established protocols for evacuations, lockdowns, and other emergency procedures.
# Report Writing and Documentation:
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security incidents, observations, and actions taken.
- Maintain accurate records of security activities, including logbooks and incident logs.
# Customer Service and Assistance:
- Provide courteous and helpful assistance to employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Act as a point of contact for inquiries, directions, and requests for assistance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a security guard or in a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of security procedures, surveillance techniques, and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on providing a positive experience for all.
- Valid security guard license or certification preferred.
