Overview
Scaffolders are responsible for erecting and dismantling scaffolding structures that provide temporary support and access for construction, maintenance, and repair work. They ensure that scaffolding is safe, stable, and compliant with safety regulations.
Duties
Erection of Scaffolding
- Assemble and install scaffolding systems according to design specifications, blueprints, and safety guidelines.
Inspection
- Regularly inspect scaffolding structures to ensure stability, safety, and compliance with regulations.
Dismantling
- Safely dismantle scaffolding after work is completed, ensuring all components are properly stored and maintained.
Collaboration
- Work closely with construction teams to determine scaffolding needs and ensure timely setup for ongoing projects.
Safety Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintenance
- Conduct routine maintenance on scaffolding equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certification in scaffolding preferred.
- Previous experience as a scaffolder or in a related construction field is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings; knowledge of scaffolding types and safety standards.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials; comfortable working at heights.
- Strong focus on safety and detail to ensure all scaffolding is secure and compliant.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
