A Porter, also known as a janitor or custodian, is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness in various facilities such as offices, apartment buildings, hotels, or hospitals. Duties
# Cleaning and Sanitization:
- Clean and sanitize common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms, to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for residents or guests.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.
- Follow cleaning protocols and use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
# Trash Removal:
- Collect and remove trash from designated areas, including trash bins and dumpsters.
- Ensure that trash receptacles are emptied and cleaned regularly.
- Dispose of trash in accordance with waste disposal guidelines and regulations.
# Surface Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors to keep surfaces clean and presentable.
- Inspect surfaces for damage or wear and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Polish and buff surfaces to maintain a professional appearance.
# Groundskeeping:
- Assist with groundskeeping tasks such as lawn mowing, weed control, and landscaping.
- Maintain outdoor areas by picking up litter, sweeping walkways, and removing debris.
- Water plants and flowers as needed to ensure they remain healthy and vibrant.
# Maintenance Support:
- Provide general maintenance support to maintenance staff, including assisting with repairs and installations.
- Help set up and dismantle equipment for events or special occasions.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
