Installation and Assembly

• Millwrights are responsible for installing machinery and equipment according to blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications. This includes setting up, aligning, and leveling machines to ensure proper operation.
• They may also assemble components and systems, using a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment.

Maintenance and Repair

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery to identify issues before they lead to equipment failure. This may involve lubricating parts, tightening bolts, and replacing worn components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform repairs on machinery and equipment as needed. This can include dismantling machinery, replacing faulty parts, and reassembling equipment.

Safety Compliance

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and ensuring that machinery meets safety standards.
• Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety within the workplace.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with engineers, maintenance personnel, and other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Effective communication is crucial for coordinating tasks and addressing any issues that arise.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff or apprentices in the proper techniques for machinery installation and maintenance.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. This documentation is essential for tracking equipment performance and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Prepare reports detailing work completed, including any issues encountered and resolutions implemented.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification Program of formal apprenticeship or vocational training in millwrighting or a related field.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings is essential.
• Must also have strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and repair machinery effectively.
• The role involves heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
• Physically fitness and comfortable working with various tools and equipment.
• certifications related to welding, rigging, and industrial maintenance from recognized organizations can enhance job prospects.
