Overview
A Marine Flooring Installer is responsible for installing and repairing flooring materials on marine vessels such as boats, yachts, and ships. They play a critical role in ensuring that marine flooring is installed correctly, withstands harsh marine conditions, and meets safety and aesthetic requirements.
Duties
Surface Preparation:
- Prepare the surface of the marine vessel by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing the substrate to ensure proper adhesion of flooring materials.

Flooring Installation:
- Measure and cut flooring materials such as marine carpet, vinyl, linoleum, or synthetic teak to fit the dimensions and contours of the vessel's interior spaces.
- Apply adhesives or fasteners to secure flooring materials to the substrate, ensuring proper alignment, coverage, and adhesion.
Seam and Edge Finishing:
- Seam flooring materials together using heat welding, adhesive bonding, or seam tape to create seamless and watertight joints.
- Finish edges and transitions with trim pieces, molding, or sealants to provide a clean and professional appearance and ensure durability.
Quality Control and Testing:
- Inspect completed flooring installations for defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies, ensuring that flooring meets quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct water and leak tests to verify the integrity and waterproofing of flooring installations, making any necessary repairs or adjustments.
Safety and Compliance:
