Overview

A Maintenance Person is responsible for performing various repair, maintenance, and upkeep tasks to ensure the functionality, safety, and cleanliness of buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds. They play a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency and creating a safe and pleasant environment for occupants or users.


Duties

# Facility Maintenance;

  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of facilities.

# Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform regular maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.

# Groundskeeping:

  • Maintain outdoor areas including landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of parking lots and walkways.

# Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures at all times.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.

# Documentation and Reporting:

  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities and provide updates to management as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
  • Experience with groundskeeping and landscaping preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
