Overview

The Glazier is responsible for installing glass in windows, doors, skylights, and other structures in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. They play a critical role in construction, renovation, and architectural projects, ensuring the accurate and secure installation of glass components to enhance aesthetics, natural light, and energy efficiency.


Duties

# Measurement and Planning:

  • Measure and plan tiling layouts to ensure precise installation.
  • Calculate material requirements and estimate costs accurately.
  • Determine the best tiling methods and techniques for each project.

# Glass Cutting and Fabrication:

  • Cut and fabricate glass tiles to the required size and shape.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision in glass cutting and fabrication.
  • Handle glass tiles safely and effectively to prevent breakage and damage.

# Installation Techniques:

  • Install tiles using various techniques, such as adhesive, grouting, and caulking.
  • Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and leveling of tiles for a seamless finish.
  • Work with different tile materials, including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone.

# Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards.

# Quality Control and Inspection:

  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of tiling work.
  • Inspect finished installations for defects, imperfections, and irregularities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a tiler or in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of tiling techniques, materials, and tools.
