Garage Assistant

Assisting Technicians:

• Aid automotive technicians by retrieving tools, parts, and equipment needed for vehicle repairs or maintenance tasks.
• Assist with vehicle inspections, tire changes, fluid top-ups, and other routine service procedures under supervision.

Organizing Inventory:

• Maintain inventory of automotive parts, supplies, and tools, ensuring items are properly stocked, labeled, and stored.
• Receive and organize incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing slips and storing items in designated locations.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Keep the garage area clean and organized by sweeping floors, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on garage equipment, such as cleaning tools, lubricating machinery, and replacing consumable items.

Customer Assistance:

• Greet customers, answer phone calls, and provide assistance with scheduling appointments, obtaining service quotes, or answering basic inquiries.
• Escort customers to waiting areas, offer refreshments, and provide updates on the status of their vehicles during service.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards in the garage environment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), follow safe lifting techniques, and maintain cleanliness to minimize risks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an automotive garage, repair shop, or similar environment is advantageous but not always required.
• Basic knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and equipment used in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain inventory, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
• Customer service skills to interact with clients, coworkers, and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills and procedures under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed to meet business demands.
