Overview
A Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing mechanical components and systems in various industries, including manufacturing, construction, and maintenance. They play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, efficiency, and safety of mechanical equipment and machinery.
Duties
Component Assembly:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand assembly requirements.

Equipment Installation:
- Install and align machinery, equipment, and structural components using hand and power tools to ensure proper fit and functionality.
- Adjust, level, and secure components to foundations, frames, or mounting surfaces as needed.
Maintenance and Repair:
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment to identify issues or malfunctions.
- Repair or replace defective components, parts, or assemblies to restore functionality and performance.
Precision Measurement:
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions, clearances, and tolerances.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in assembly and installation processes to meet quality standards.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazardous exposures during assembly, installation, and repair activities.

Qualifications
- Previous experience as a fitter, assembler, or mechanical technician in a manufacturing, construction, or maintenance environment.
