Overview
A Factory Worker is responsible for performing various tasks in a manufacturing or production facility to contribute to the assembly, production, or packaging of goods. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the factory and the timely completion of production tasks.
Duties
Assembly and Production:
- Operate machinery and equipment to assemble, fabricate, or process components or products according to production specifications.
- Follow assembly instructions, blueprints, or work orders to ensure accurate and timely completion of production tasks.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products or components for defects, irregularities, or inconsistencies in size, shape, or appearance.
- Report any quality issues or deviations from specifications to supervisors or quality control personnel for resolution.
Packaging and Labeling:
- Package finished products into containers, boxes, or pallets according to packaging requirements and shipping instructions.
- Apply labels, stickers, or tags to packaged products for identification, tracking, and inventory management purposes.
Material Handling:
- Load and unload raw materials, parts, or finished products onto or from conveyor belts, pallets, or storage racks.
- Transport materials or products within the factory using hand trucks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
Cleanup and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas by sweeping floors, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, or tools to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns or malfunctions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment is preferred but not always required.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively in a team, and adapt to changing production demands.
- Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and recording production data or inventory quantities.
- Physical stamina and endurance to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Attention to detail and quality in performing production tasks and inspecting finished products.
- Willingness to adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
