Overview

Duties

Installation of Elevators and Escalators

  • Collaborate with construction teams to prepare the installation site, ensuring that all necessary equipment and materials are available.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to assemble and install elevator and escalator components, including motors, pulleys, and cabling systems.
  • Install and connect electrical systems that control elevator and escalator operations, ensuring compliance with local and national electrical codes.
  • Conduct initial testing of newly installed systems to ensure they operate correctly and safely before handing them over to clients.

Maintenance and Inspections

  • Perform regular inspections of elevators and escalators to identify potential issues before they become serious problems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubricating moving parts, replacing worn components, and adjusting settings to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain detailed logs of inspections and maintenance activities to comply with safety regulations and provide clients with documentation of service history.

Troubleshooting and Repair

  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems. Carry out repairs on faulty components, including replacing motors, control panels, and safety devices.
  • Respond to emergency calls to address critical failures, ensuring minimal downtime and restoring service as quickly as possible.
  • Clearly communicate with clients regarding the nature of issues, proposed solutions, and any necessary follow-up work.

Safety Compliance

  • Stay informed about local, state, and national codes and regulations regarding elevator installation and maintenance.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols while working, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and equipment.
  • Conduct risk assessments before starting any installation or repair work to identify potential hazards.

Continuous Learning and Development

  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay current with the latest technologies and industry standards.

Qualifications:
