Overview

Duties

Installation:

  • Install electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and other electrical components according to blueprints, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Determine appropriate placement and routing of electrical wiring and fixtures to ensure functionality and compliance with regulations.

Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues, such as loose connections, worn-out components, or signs of damage.
  • Clean electrical components, such as circuit breakers and electrical panels, to remove dust and debris that may affect performance.

Repair:

  • Troubleshoot electrical problems reported by clients or detected during inspections, using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the root cause of the issue.
  • Repair or replace damaged wiring, circuits, outlets, switches, and other electrical components to restore functionality and safety.

Upgrades:

  • Upgrade existing electrical systems to meet current safety standards, accommodate increased electrical loads, or improve energy efficiency.
  • Install additional outlets, circuits, or lighting fixtures as needed to meet the changing needs of clients or building occupants.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with local, national, and industry-specific electrical codes and regulations to maintain safety and prevent hazards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of vocational or technical training program in electrical work preferred.
