Overview

Duties

Underwater Inspections and Maintenance:

  • Conduct visual inspections of underwater structures, such as bridges, pipelines, dams, and ship hulls, to assess their condition and identify any damage or defects.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and repairing underwater equipment, structures, and facilities.

Construction and Installation:

  • Assist in the construction and installation of underwater infrastructure, such as underwater pipelines, cables, foundations, and offshore platforms.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to weld, cut, drill, and fasten materials underwater, following engineering plans and specifications.

Salvage and Recovery Operations:

  • Participate in salvage and recovery operations to retrieve sunken vessels, equipment, or cargo from underwater environments.
  • Use lifting equipment, rigging systems, and diving techniques to safely recover objects from the seabed or other submerged locations.

Scientific Research and Exploration:

  • Support scientific research projects by collecting data, samples, and specimens from underwater ecosystems.
  • Assist marine scientists and researchers in conducting surveys, experiments, and observations to study marine life, habitats, and geological features.

Qualifications:

  • Certification from a recognized diving organization
  • Excellent physical fitness and health to meet the demands of diving, including swimming proficiency, stamina, strength, and agility.
  • Certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and emergency oxygen administration.
  • Keen attention to detail to perform tasks accurately and safely in the underwater environment.
