Overview
Divers play a crucial role in various industries, from marine construction and maintenance to underwater research and salvage operations. Duties
Underwater Inspections and Maintenance:
- Conduct inspections of underwater structures, such as bridges, pipelines, and offshore platforms, to assess their condition and identify any damage or defects.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on underwater infrastructure, including cleaning, welding, cutting, and installing or removing equipment and fixtures.
Construction and Installation Projects:
- Assist with underwater construction projects, such as building underwater foundations, installing pipelines, or erecting marine structures.
- Participate in the assembly, installation, and positioning of underwater components using specialized tools and techniques.
Search and Recovery Operations:
- Participate in search and recovery missions to locate and retrieve lost or submerged objects, including vehicles, equipment, or cargo.
- Employ diving techniques and equipment, such as sonar systems, lift bags, and underwater cameras, to facilitate search and recovery efforts.
Underwater Surveys and Mapping:
- Conduct underwater surveys and mapping exercises to document underwater terrain, geological features, and marine life.
- Collect data and samples for scientific research, environmental assessments, or archaeological investigations.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid commercial diving certification from a recognized training organization.
- Previous experience working as a diver, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to meet the physical demands of diving, including swimming, lifting heavy equipment, and working in confined spaces.
- Understanding of underwater construction techniques, welding procedures, cutting methods, and rigging practices commonly used in commercial diving operations.
