Load Management:

  • Crane operators assess the weight and size of loads to determine the appropriate lifting capacity and rigging configuration.

Communication:

  • Crane operators communicate with ground personnel, signalers, and other operators using hand signals, radios, or other communication devices to coordinate lifts and movements.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal crane operator training program accredited by a recognized institution or organization
  • Previous experience operating cranes, preferably in a construction, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
  • Thorough understanding of safety procedures, regulations, and best practices for crane operations.
  • Good physical condition and stamina to withstand the demands of operating cranes for extended periods.
