Overview
The CE Truck Driver operates heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) with a CE license classification, transporting goods and materials between locations. Duties
Vehicle Operation:
- Safely operate articulated trucks and heavy goods vehicles with a CE license classification.
- Drive trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations, following prescribed routes and schedules.
Loading and Unloading:
- Load cargo onto the truck and ensure proper securement to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Unload cargo at delivery locations, using appropriate equipment and following safety protocols.
Route Planning and Navigation:
- Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation systems, maps, or route planning software.
- Navigate through traffic and road conditions safely, adjusting routes as needed to avoid delays or hazards.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks and arrange for repairs or servicing as needed to keep the truck in good working order.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including trip logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery receipts.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including weight limits, driving hours, and vehicle inspection requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid CE category driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as an HGV driver or truck driver, particularly with articulated trucks, preferred.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and vehicle operation.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform loading and unloading tasks and drive for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
