Duties
Client Consultations
- Conduct consultations to understand the client’s needs, preferences, and desired look for brows and lashes.
- Assess the natural brow shape and lash length to recommend suitable services, such as brow shaping, lash extensions, or tinting.
- Provide recommendations based on the client’s face shape, eye structure, and skin type.
Brow Shaping and Styling
- Perform brow shaping using techniques such as waxing, threading, or tweezing to achieve a well-defined and flattering shape.
- Offer brow tinting services to enhance the colour and depth of the client’s natural brows.
- Provide brow lamination (where applicable) to give the appearance of fuller, thicker brows by setting them in place.
- Educate clients on maintaining their brow shape between appointments and recommend brow care products.
Eyelash Extensions
- Apply semi-permanent eyelash extensions, attaching individual lashes to enhance length, volume, and curl.
- Customize lash extensions based on the client’s eye shape and desired outcome (e.g., natural, dramatic, cat-eye, etc.).
- Perform lash fills and maintenance for returning clients to ensure extensions remain full and fresh.
- Safely remove or adjust eyelash extensions as needed.
Lash Lifts and Tinting
- Offer lash lifting services to curl and lift the natural lashes for a more defined, wide-eyed appearance.
- Apply lash tinting to darken and enhance the colour of the natural lashes, providing a mascara-like effect without makeup.
- Ensure the safe use of tinting and lifting products, adhering to safety protocols to prevent skin or eye irritation.
Client Safety and Hygiene
- Follow all safety procedures to protect clients during treatments, particularly around sensitive eye areas.
- Maintain a hygienic work environment by sanitizing tools, equipment, and workstations between clients.
- Use disposable tools and supplies where necessary (such as mascara wands and lash pads) to prevent cross-contamination.
Client Education and Aftercare
- Provide aftercare instructions for brow and lash treatments, including advice on how to care for extensions, tints, or lifts to prolong the results.
- Recommend products that can enhance or maintain the look of brows and lashes between sessions, such as serums, oils, or grooming tools.
- Educate clients on proper cleaning and maintenance of lash extensions to prevent premature shedding or irritation.
Product Knowledge and Upselling
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in brow and lash care, including new products and techniques.
- Recommend and sell retail products such as brow gels, lash serums, or aftercare kits.
- Inform clients about additional services or beauty packages that may complement their brow and lash treatments.
Record Keeping and Appointments
- Maintain detailed client records, noting preferences, skin sensitivities, and treatment history.
- Schedule follow-up appointments based on the client’s needs for maintenance or touch-ups.
- Ensure timely management of appointments, providing high-quality service in a time-efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State-approved aesthetician or cosmetology license (requirements vary by location).
- Certification in lash extensions and brow treatments (may be obtained through specialized training programs).
- Experience working in a beauty salon, spa, or lash studio.
- Previous training or experience with advanced brow and lash services (e.g., lamination, volume lash extensions).
- Must hold an aesthetician or cosmetology license, often with additional certification in brow shaping, lash extensions, or tinting.
- Proficiency in techniques such as brow shaping (waxing, threading, tweezing), lash extensions, lash lifting, tinting, and brow lamination.
- Precision and skill in applying individual lash extensions and brow shaping for a flawless, symmetrical appearance.
- Strong understanding of sanitation, safety protocols, and proper handling of products around sensitive areas like the eyes.
- Ability to assess face shapes and features to create customized brow and lash looks that complement the client's natural beauty.
