Overview

Duties

Layout and Preparation:

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, or specifications to determine layout and dimensions of structures.
  • Prepare work area by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring proper alignment and leveling of foundation.

Bricklaying and Masonry Work:

  • Lay bricks, stones, or concrete blocks in accordance with established patterns, ensuring proper spacing and alignment.
  • Apply mortar or other bonding agents to join materials together, using trowels, brushes, or other tools.

Cutting and Shaping:

  • Cut, shape, or trim bricks, stones, or other materials to fit specific dimensions or design requirements.
  • Use hand or power tools such as saws, chisels, or grinders to achieve precise cuts and finishes.

Repair and Restoration:

  • Repair or replace damaged bricks, stones, or mortar joints in existing structures.
  • Restore historical or heritage buildings by matching existing materials and techniques to maintain architectural integrity.

Qualifications
