Duties
Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty beverages. Operate and maintain coffee machines and equipment, ensuring they are clean and functioning properly. Follow recipes and standards for beverage preparation to ensure consistency and quality.
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately and efficiently. Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Cash Handling
- Process payments accurately, including cash, credit/debit transactions, and gift cards. Issue receipts and manage change efficiently, maintaining a balanced cash register.
Cleanliness and Sanitation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee station and dining area. Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring proper sanitation of all equipment and utensils. Regularly restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, and pastries to ensure availability for customers.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members to meet customer needs and ensure efficient service. Participate in training sessions to improve beverage preparation skills and customer service techniques.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies, and report shortages to management. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of coffee and related products.
Promotions and Marketing
- Promote seasonal beverages and special offers to encourage sales and enhance customer experience. Participate in marketing initiatives, including social media engagement and local events.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; barista training or experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in a café or food service role is beneficial but not mandatory.
